Tell them to stop having so many babies.
300 million at independence and a billion today,how much better a country India would be today if they only had a population of 500 million?

It is true, and shamefull that inspite of having talent, and resources it has not been properly used to uplift the general standard of the people, but however the politicians are becoming billionaires by misusing the power they are entrusted with. Unless the people are given value based education nothing is possible in a constructive way to eradicate the poverty from the country .

Teach them about family planning and birth control. Many poor people don't know about it. Since they don't have any other form of entertainment such as TV etc. they make babies in their free time. I'm not trying to be funny. Think about it. Seva can be preached in temples...Seva or selfless service to humanity. Probably, persons in each temple can bring one food or toiletry item until a hamper is made up. Make a list of who will bring what, so there will be no doubling up. This can be done once a month or more frequently depending on how much the devotees can put out. When the hamper is made up, it can be given to a different family in the area each month. If this Seva is done in the name of the temple please ensure that the foodstuff given is vegetarian. It will be given in the Lord's name. Ask persons in the name of Seva to hold workshops in different areas to teach them a trade, so they can support themselves. Please ignore the other comments about teaching the poor Indians about Jesus. As a Hindu I have nothing against Jesus but I believe in being born a Hindu and dying a Hindu. Probably there are no poor Christians in the world. Or maybe if a set of Christians did not plunder and rape India many years ago, she would be in a better condition now. Hey, I'm not generalizing Christians and all of them are not like that, but I just get so angry when some of them want to bring Jesus into everything. Fine! Jesus is good, so are Allah and Krishna.

Get a house and a flat-bed truck. Let them all live with you. Provide 85% support for them. Teach them a trade and like some Hispanics, they can get a decent job doing construction work or some other type labor job. All they need is a place to live, food to eat, and money to buy a change of clothes. The rest is all luxury.

these figures are not real ones-brother only manipulated. As regards these people are the ones who earn well, but drink , make merry give on rent the accomodation provided to them and go and stay back in the slums. So, unless the whole system changes, they get educated this figure will increase but never decrease.
