It is situated at a distance 48 miles on the west from Lahore. Guru Nanak dev ji passed his whole childhood and young age in Nankana Sahib.
Gurudwara Sri Nankana Sahib Ji - (Gurudwara Birth Place of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji) : Nankana Sahib is a holy place where the founder of Sikh religion, the dispeller of darkness, the most enlightened global Guru, Guru Nanak Dev ji was born early in the morning to Mata Tripta Ji and Mehta Kalu Ji on 15th April, 1469 (Baisakh sudi 3, Samwat 1526). The township of Nankana Sahib was earlier known as Raipur and later on as Rai-Bhoi-di-Talwandi but after the birth of Guru Nanak, it began to be known as Nankian Sahib/Nankana Sahib.
After this partition, a mention of Nankana Sahib Gurudwara in the daily ardasa or prayer has become a regular feature. These Sikh shrines in Pakistan are managed by a Waqf Board and every year, Sikh Jathas visit these shrines on four different occasions. At present there are 25-30 Sikh families residing in Nankana Sahib and as a result of this, daily service is performed and bani is recited. At the occassion of Guru Nanak's anniversary, about three thousand Sikh devotees from India visit Nankana Sahib. Sikhs from all over the world come there too.

The NANKANA SAHIB gurudwara is about 75 kilometres from Lahore and comes under Sheikhupura district. The district is well connected with rail and road with other parts of Pakistan.

This is the town, now in Pakistan where the first Guru of the Sikh and the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev was born in 1469. At the time of birth of baby Nanak, the place was a village and was called Rai Bhoi di Talwandi. The town is located about 75 kilometres west-southwest of Lahore in the District of Sheikhpura. There are several Gurdwaras here built in honour of the first Guru of the Sikhs. Subsequently, the Fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev and the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind also visited this town.

Nankana shaib is the name of city in Pakistan.The old name was Talwandi. I have been there my self. No one gurudwara is destroyed by Muslims.(please do not say something you only has heard from some one) all gurudwaras are there, I was very happy to Se everything was original, more then 500 years saved by the good peoples. What is the value of stones ? it is nice looking.is that you want to Se at places like nankana shaib? NO Thanks !! NANKANA SAHIB Gurudawra in the Pakistan. Lahore in which destence i know but just 80 KL , its birth place of Guru Nanak
