Sure I find them amusing, but I don't think I will be able to sleep- they'll wake me up!

And no I'm not putting a bucket on my head and ramming into walls, drinking 50 galleons of water or running up and down the street naked!

Drinking water out of the opposite side of the glass works for me. It takes a second to do it without spilling, though, so you might want to try it over the sink.

This sure fire method works and I'm not joking:

Take a number 2 lead pencil
Hold it between your teeth
Get a glass of water
While holding the pencil, take a few sips of water

Your hiccups will stop in a few seconds

If it doesn't work the first time (which it normally does), do it one more time.

Different things seem to work for different people. I have to sit down and relax, put my chin to my chest and hold my breath for a little while. Then start breathing slowly while still holding my head down. This seems to break the cycle. I know if I don't force myself to relax they seem to go on forever.

You just need to drink a glass of water or you could just hold your breath .

Breathe deeply. Hiccups are an involuntary reaction to lack of oxygen, it forces you to take in air, thus, if you supply enough slow deep breaths of air into your lungs, they'll stop.
