It is pointless to try and explain this to you.

If you believe that weapons of mass destruction never existed, then you are naive.

If you believe that there were no ties between Saddam and terrorists or terrorism, again, you are naive.

Never, never, NEVER did President Bush say that there was a direct link between Saddam and Al Qaeda. Never. Get through your skull.

President Bush said...

"Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated. "

"we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation in every region now has a decision to make: Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists.
From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime."

"Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign unlike any other we have ever seen."

"We will lead, oversee and coordinate a comprehensive national strategy to safeguard our country against terrorism and respond to any attacks that may come. These measures are essential. The only way to defeat terrorism as a threat to our way of life is to stop it, eliminate it and destroy it where it grows. "

Now how ridiculous was your question? You show me one documented quote where President Bush said that there was a direct link between Saddam Hussein and Al-Qaeda. While you are at it, you show me one documented quote where the President ever said that Iraq played a role in 9/11. That is the other falsehood people like you like to use against our President.

You aren't only "confused"... you are a lost cause.

The war was based on the information provided by our intellegence agencys. After years of defying UN sanctions and resoloutions, IE, firing weapons at US aircraft, denying UN inspectors access and other violations, the decision was made to oust Hussein. The war was approved by the CONGRESS, democrats and republicans. By coincedence, the attacks of 9/11 occured, and troops were deployed to Afganistan to hunt down Bin Laden. If you watched or listened to your Presidents address last night, he explained that the foreign policy of the United States was changed on 9/11, no more negotiating with the radicals, no more waiting for them to attack us. It became policy to take the war to them. The radicals flocked to Iraq and it is there that the major war is being waged. The best thing that can happen in the middle east is for democratic nations to be developed there.
Don't fall for the propaganda being stuffed in your face by the liberals. The point of our troops being in Iraq and the middle east is to rid the world of the tyrants and dictators who kill women and children, because they play soccer or wear makeup. Freedom and democracy is the only thing keeping this world from being ruled by religious morons.

the intelligence the president and the congress (including democrats) had was that he had weapons of mass destruction. The vote was overwhelming to go into Iraq and get rid of the weapons and get remove Hussain from power.

The intelligence turned out not to be as accurrate as the CIA reported. Once we got in there and took him out of power we can't pull out of there cold turkey. Its going to have to be a timed removal so that Iraq can take care of themselves. The Democrats and Republicans all relied on bad intelligence so both were at fault and wrong for all of it. Blaming Bush cause he is the President is fine, but Democrats need to look in the mirror as well. They approved it. If they didn't want to go into Iraq, they all had the opportunity to vote no, and they didn't.

It was all about the almighty dollar. Don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. I think as the days go on, more and more Americans are becoming aware of this. It's a shame but nothing you can do about it now.

One thing-black Iraqi gold (I meant oil). Bush has used this illegal war as a cover for getting his hands on Iraqi oil for his oil exec buddies at the expense of over 2,700 dead service personnel. Now that's just plain wrong!

The point of the Iraq war was to provide security for Israel and to remove the threat of Scud missile attacks from Iraq to Israeli cities. It had no bearing on US security at all.
