I have sensitive skin and if i put perfume on my skin direct I end up scratching till I bleed, now i spray a Little on my clothes, before i get dressed, giving it time to dry and smell nice, Ive found this works a treat. I stay away from really potent ones though. of course as many have said it is trial and error. I love Kenzo flowers and Armani (the gold one).

I too am sensitive to an awful lot of fragrances. I had to do a trial and error thing with myself until I came up with a perfume that doesn't bother my skin. Heaven Scent by Dana (not easy to find) has been the best for me, even though I cannot use the body lotion.

A freind of mine is also allergic to fragrances, particularly those that are flower based and covers not only perfumes but washing powders and conditioners etc.
The last perfumes she was able to use were from Body Shop and can still use the fruit "flavoured" bath/shower gels.

What your mum needs to be looking at first and foremost is WHY she is allergic to certain fragrances. Get to the bottom of it before she forces herself into a selective life (living around a basic condition which probably has a solution).
If you want some information on how to go about this, just drop me an e-mail via my profile. I have mountains of scientifically validated info to hand, and I would be happy to share this with anyone still having to put up with allergies of any description.
Allergies are no great mystery, believe me.
Good Luck!

That does sound rough.
Now, my mother is terribly sensitive to petroleum- which means she can't use most perfumes, lotions, or soaps. But she can use soaps that don't have petroleum-based products in it- which includes a lot of fragrances. Perhaps you can- CAUTIOUSLY- try them. Take a look in the local health food or nutrition store.
Good luck!

Your mum doesn't need perfumes to smell nice. There are a few fragrance free toiletries like deodorants etc, but if she uses cream on her skin, she'll be fine..

I like juvan white musk for women cause its light. Tell her to try spraying just a little in the back of her hair. I do this all the time & it doesnt damage your hair & it is farther away from your nose yet anyone that gets behind you can smell it & it wont be overwhelming.

None that I can think of. Trial & error I suppose. Have to try a few to see if she gets any reactions.
