I think J Salakar is right. You do need your passport from your home country. Switzerland is not in the EU and there is still a checkpoint, where they check your passport, when you enter the country by car from Germany, Austria, Italy, or France.

A Green Card only means that person is in the United States legally and is permitted to work here. It does not mean they are a U.S. citizen. They are still a citizen of whatever country they came from so they might need to have a passport from their own county to travel to other countries like Canada.

I think so... They're making US Citizens have passports to go to Canada now... they didn't used to...
