70's and 80's

2006-09-11 23:52:30 · answer #1 · answered by Wendy 2 · 3 1

Definitely the 60's, the birth of the rock and roll that we know today. The music of the 70's, 80's, 90's, and this century are progression of 60's music. Although 60's rock and roll has its roots in R & B, Blues, Soul, and (believe it or not) Gospel. The 60's progessed with what the musicians listened to when they were young, hence, the 60's gave birth to Rock, Rock & Roll, Metal, Heavey Metal, Southern Rock, Funk, and yes even disco (yuk). The song writers of the 60's, still write songs today, if they're still alive that is.

50's - birth, 60's - early childhood, 70's - childhood to pre teen, 80's - teenager, 90's to now - young adulthood. Music will always progress to higher levels. Can't say what's going to happen in the future, but one thing is for sure - music has been around since the dawn of time and will be around until the end of time.

80s

difficult to actually pinpoint one particular decade. The early to mid seventies was absolute pants but from 76 with the evolution of punk, the next 3 years made 70's music great. This continued into the early 80's but towards the latter end of that decade we were subjected to a lot of unlistenable tosh. Every decade, i suppose, will have it's peaks and troughs but, if only for the last 3 years, i would have to say the 70's.

Music was brilliant from the 60s thru to early 90s - the 70s and 80s rocked! Now all they play is recycled crap.

I think it all depends on your taste really. If youre into pop then the 80's was your time. If however your monkey is stroked by the power of the rock riff then you will most likely tend to prefer the 70's (yes i know they had disco then as well) with the 90's worthy of a mention too.

Suppose it depends how you look at it. Personally I think the 60s was pretty good compared to what was being played previously - the Beatles came along and things seemed to change. I'd say late 60s to mid 70s for Beatles, Stones, Who etc... I think what we have now is the worst ever as these days you don't need to be able to sing or play music....maybe I'm just getting old!

Defo 80's - do agree though that it depends on why you were born - I prefer this decade cos all the 80's songs have good memories for me (school disco's and snogging!!!)
