An issue with what?

Legally it makes things easier with the spouse becoming automatic next of kind and eligible for the other's pension and that kind of thing.

Socially I don't really think that it matters a great deal any more to the majority of the population.

Absolutely. It is not good for man to be alone, i.e. without a wife. Sex outside of marriage is displeasing to God, if pleasing Him is a concern to you. Marriage is wonderful when you've taken the time to marry the right person and make it work.

It is; if not God would not have ordained it. It is sacred. God would have nothing to loose if He had created Adam alone; but He created Eve to be a partner to Adam thus making marriage an issue.

Reading all the questions on here about ex lovers who don't take care of their kids, and all the women who have kids without being married, I would have to say marriage isn't very important.

not unless you make it one, its a 50/50 partnership,and both have to work at it and treat each other as equals.
