Actually WWI was historically considered "the war to end all wars". This was because it was warfare on such a massive level never before seen, and was thought would discourage any nation from declaring war ever again. Were they ever wrong. Also a interesting fact Dr.Gatling invented the Gatling Gun with the hope that it would be such a devastating and fearsome weapon that it would make men give up war. Guess what it didn't work and we still use weapons patterned after his design today.

Because over 50 million people died in the war, that is military and civilian deaths. Civilian deaths accounted for most of the dead. Over 58,000 Americans were killed in just 2 two mouths of the island fighting in Japan. That is part of the reason the u.s.a dropped the atomic bomb on Japan, because it was estimated that as many as 1 million men could die trying to invade mainland Japan. The two atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan killed over 175,000 people, and countless others died after. As many as 500,000 people died in a string of fire bombings on Tokyo. All of the world was at war with each other and the suffering was tremendous to say the least, may we never see such a thing again in out lifetimes. People think that losing 2500 troops in Iraq is bad, in world war two they lost that many solders in a week of heavy fighting.

The motives are basic sufficient - 3 countries that discovered themselves without empires - launched into getting them. This delivered them into conflict with different empires and the international replaced into at war. it rather is seen as a results of how WW1 replaced into concluded - yet that did no longer inevitably propose war. Facism replaced into allowed to flourish in Europe in part as a foil to the communists interior the U.S. who have been seen as probably risky. the different powers (and the sick-starred league of countries) did no longer something to keep away from this - and the Spanish Civil war ought to have been sufficient indication of ways risky the region replaced into. For Germany being disadvantaged of colonies and land (ceded to Poland on the Paris Peace convention) triggered Hilter to discovered his 0.33 Reich - his quest replaced into as lots to do with ideology as commerce. For the Italians who got here overdue to the Imperial game - it replaced into war in Ethiopia and north Africa - for the eastern who lack organic components it replaced into an attempt take over mainland Asia and with the war in Europe underway take the prospect of grabbing the undefended colonies.

I guess that after the horrors of WW2, people thought that everyone is and would remain sick and tired of wars and of inflicting suffer upon others. But then it became obvious that the USA and other countries became a breeding ground for Hitler's "spiritual children", and for Jews who hijacked all the WW2 horrors all "for Jews only".

Because a lot of people died, and the survivors thought that would put an end to further wars because there weren't enough people to fight each other.
