I would certainly like to think so, but if their general attitude and conduct is anything to go by, I fear not !
I watch groups of teenagers just hanging around, not doing anything productive, doing drugs quite openly ..while they're being watched by much younger children in a park..abusing anyone who " dares " to confront them ...throwing litter, smoking, drinking, singing quite loudly after midnight in residential areas..etc, etc !
Having said that, there are a lot of youths that are wonderful, want to do well, study hard etc, but they are most certainly ( unfortunately ) a minority !
At this stage, they have no idea what's in store for them, I feel so sorry for the next generation because they simply are clueless !
They are greatly influenced by political correctness, and that in turn is effecting their future ( and any hope for a better tomorrow ) .
Today's society is teaching youngsters that they must NOT compete, they must NOT fight back, they must NOT speak freely, they must NOT fear their parents, exams are getting easier..so they're learning less and without a good education what does the future hold in store for the human race?
Society is destroying our hope for a better tomorrow, the bad outnumber the good !
I hope that I'm wrong ..but I despair when I look around me ! I seriously believe that they won't be able to cope, they're not prepared for the future .

No. Youths of today are consumer mad. They have great awareness of societies problems and dangers but manage to ignore them. We will only begin to address these issues correctly when it begins to affect the lives of the general masses.
Your question really answers itself though because the youth of today are by definition the only hope we have for tomorrow. I do not have faith in them at the current time but when adversory strikes I agree that people will do what they must.

YES, no matter what general label you apply to them.
They ARE the FUTURE and since they are ALIVE then take heed of the old saying, "Where there is LIFE there is HOPE."
You may or may not be around when they take over all the responsibilities of society but every generation makes its own bed and has to lie in it.

The youth will be in charge soon enough. Their decisions will shape our future, and every generation has doubts about the younger generation.

they could repair tomorrow..or destroy it.
they've seen, heard, and been taught
so many different things by the media,
their schools, other teens, and their parents.
they lived to experience 9/11 and the plane
jackers and stuff.
they've experienced enough to destroy america
or help make it better and safer.

yes, they are our future. They will be running our country and making important decisions. That is why we MUST teach them respect, values and ethics. This must start at home at an early age.
