i just wanted to correct some of the answers...unfortunately some people answer questions without knowing the truth....first not all muslim men are rich..just some of them ..so not every one can get married to four wives...2-the wife doesn't have to be a virgin because she could've been married before her husband to another man .... 3- the wife doesn't have to be muslim but she has to believe in god(christian or jewish) ..budhism is not included....actually i don't agree with this possibility in islam and i think it is not fair...but i just wanted to clear things out for you

Arabic men aren't supposed to have four wives or more than a wife unless:
- it is a state of war, insufficient resources and most men dies, females have no one to support financilayy, that's when a man can marry more than one. Marrying more than one for joy is forbidden; it is un reasonable to think like the Quran advices on erotics, while it forbids the indecent look to a female.
Any way, if an arabian man is to gain a Eurpean Nationality, he must not go with his wives, for this is a crime of polygamy. He may take only one wife as his.

The Dutch artist Anton Heijboer had 4 Dutch wives, who all four wore his ring.
Of course church would not approve this, and neither does Dutch law, but the five lived together very happily.
So practically everything is possible. Legally is a different matter.

In Egypt, they explained to me that a Muslim can take wives of any worldide religion, these being either Christian, Buddhist, etc., + of course Muslim (which is the best of all for them - small surprise)
The children will be Muslim. Period. The European woman loses her right to make decisions as soon as she says 'yes'.

The most of Arabic men,for ex from U.A.E,are very rich,thats why they can have 4 wifes and they must be happy in life with this man(husband).But its not usuall thing,cuz first wife won't live with somebody else,u know what i mean!

Dear Dumbo,Arabic man can be Muslim or Cristian.so not all Arabic men can be married 4 times unless he's Muslim.
Muslim man(Arabic ,Iranian,Indonesian or Chinese)can be married by SHARIAAT(KORAN LAW) 4 times.

in utah among the mormons ,there are those who still practice that way of life ,i unfortunately was born different so i only have one wife ,,,,,,,sign........darn ......lol
