No I cant name 4 countries which start with letter A but do not end with the letter A. The reason for that is that probably there arent 4 countries having such name (or atleast I dont know of). The ones I know are
Azerbaijan , Afghanistan.

This is a trick question... According to standard spelling there are only 3 countries which start with letter A and don't end with letter A... Unless you are using some regional variations or old names or names of regions for countries (e.g. Akorotiri) there are only 3 countries starting with a letter A and not ending with letter A...

Afghanistan and Azerbaijan is it.
Ascension Island and Aland are both territories, not countries.
Somebody noted Austria-Hungary as an ex country which could be included, as could Alsace-Lorraine which was a seperate country for about two weeks after WW1.

Debatable as whether they could count as countries as they are not self governing, but Akrotiri and Dhekelia aswell as Ascension Island often appear on country lists. So you could argue 5!
