First, you must have a CD/DVD-Writer to write data onto a CDR.
Second, you must have a burning/writing CD application installed on your system. (If you use windows xp, you can just open your CD/DVD drive, drag and drop data onto it, then chose write data option on the left panel.)

First I want to make sure you have a drive capable of writing a CDR

Go to Start Menu -> My Computer

You should see some drives and one should say CD-RW or DVD-RW

If so then do this:

Put the disc in -> Find the pictures you want to burn to the disc, make sure you have everything you want because CD-R's are one time burn discs (if you use CD-RW you can use it over and over again) -> Select the ones you want to copy ->Right click -> Copy

Start Menu -> My computer -> DVD/CD-RW drive-> Right click - Paste- File Menu (at the top) -> Write these files to CD

Depending on what type of OS you are running you might be able to just select the ones you want to burn, and : Right Click-> Send to -> DVD/CD-RW drive -> File -> Write these files to CD

Good luck, hope I didnt confuse you

CDR's are already blank when you buy them. The only problem I can think of, is that your CD Drive isn't a CD Burner.

Yes they are ready to use.
You need a program to write files on CD (aka CD Burner). A good program for this is Nero, but you can also do it from Explorer in Win XP (Write files to CD)

cdrs usually come with drivers and software...
install the driver first...but if its plug and play all you have to do is install software (ex nero).
