Each baby is very different and it will vary with each one.
Sometimes, in the first stages of labor, the child can be very active. They somehow know what is going on and are very excited for it! Believe it or not.
Then as the contractions become more frequent and harder, the whole stomach squeezes, which squeezes the baby, and sometimes stresses it out a bit. Usually they won't move during contractions later on and sometimes their heart rate will drop just a tiny bit during a contraction.
Ask your OB on the exact specifics.
But they can be very very active, right up until you go into labor, and after too for awhile.

Your baby will remain active, although once your waters break there's very little room for him/her to move so this will slow (but you will feel them more as the cushioning is no longer there).
When contracting it is normal for the baby to not move very much - at this same time your midwife will be monitoring your babies hearbeat so don't worry when your baby becomes less active.
Congratulations and good luck with the induction.....try raspberry leaf tea...very good for bringing on labour

My 5 were all extremely active most of my pregnancies. until 2 or 3 days before birth. Then they slowed down. But after they were born; They still have not slowed down.
But in the same respect all pregnancies and deliveries were different. I had strange dreams with one. Ate very little with one One was born with the umbilical cord around the throat. etc.

Yes babies remain active. They are moving into the birth canal that takes energy and movement. It is also why they sleep for the first few days.
Do not try to push the baby out before he/she is ready. You will only disappoint yourself

the baby can be a little active, but babies usually rest a few days before they come out, so they are not felt as much as normal. this is what both of mine did and I was worried, but the doctor said that it is normal. I went over my due dates also.

it should still be wriggly inbetween the contractions (where it gets squashed). If you are at the hosp (beacause your contractions have begun) they will monitor the babys activity and heart rate- if it drops then they'll help it out mre quickly ie section
good luck
