I'm from a small city just outside of Toronto, Canada. I suppose that my city is pretty much like any other town. We have an iceberg in our city square, and local gangs carve grafitti into it at night. The next day, our fire department hoses it down, and the new ice covers the gang markings.
People say "Eh?" a lot. Like, "It's a nice day, Eh?" "Can you tell me where the frozen ducks are, Eh?" "What letter in the alphabet precedes 'B,' Eh?"
Although I'm writing to you in English because its a requirement on this system, the language of Canada is Canadese, a language that we adapted from the Romans when Caesar Augustus controlled most of our eastern provinces. So, instead of saying, "Ego amo te," we say, "Ow bout a cuppa tea, Eh?" Therefore, Canadese is known as a Romance Language, like French or Spanish.
People first came to my little city of Caribootooyoo in the early 17th century to hunt walrus. The walrus ate most of the Europeans, but then our ancestors got an idea. They disguised themselves as minks, pretended to wrap the walrus in a fur coat, and capture it. However, some environmentalists from the lower forty-eight came running to the walrus' aid with spray paint and colored all of the minks pink. The walrus, frightened by the sight of a pink mink, ran away to the Northwest Territory, leaving Caribootooyoo to the settlers.
I hope that you can visit me in Caribootooyoo someday. My family would invite you for dinner. We love Italians. Usually my mother bakes them and then uses the bones to make a rich broth. As we say around here, "When in Caribootooyoo, do as the Romans, Eh?"
