There is no easy way but to say how you feel and that you can not continue the relationship. Just be honest .. as well the sooner the better

You can't get out of a relationship without hurting some1. Guess you have to be honest and tell him the truth. You have put out your question in a nice way; try telling him in the way you have written.

Try to tell him all your feelings and why you think it won't work between you 2 and how unfair it will be on your part to be wiz him when you want to be with some1 else.

It's hard but you will have to or else you will be stuck with someone you are not in love with and whatever good feelings you both share now will turn into hatred and ur lives will be miserable.

Be courageous and good luck!

Honesty is the best policy and if you respect him you will tell him asap. My ex lied to me for 26 years when all I ever asked was for him to be truthful, now I have a wonderful partner and although we may hurt each other at times, it would hurt twice as much if we found out elsewhere.

you're gonna hurt him because you're doing a sh*tty thing! theres no way round it. whatever you say or do he's gonna feel like he was led on, wel because he has been really just tell him the truth that he was a stop gap until you could get your ex back, don't try giving him all the lines about how 'special' he is and if you'd met at a different time blah blah to make it easier for you, let him be angry with you then he'll get over it quicker. why do you girsl do these things eh?

Stop kidding yourself. If you break up with your partner, it is going to hurt him/her. You just have to do it, and do it as quickly and cleanly as possible. Offer support, but not too much so it doesn't interfere with their ability to get over you.
There is no way to get out of a healthy relationship without putting at least one person's feelings on the line. But it sounds like you have to do it to get back with your ex. So do it, and be done with it. Part of life is going through different relationship stages. The break-up is a tough, but stregnthening one.
Good luck.

It will probably be impossible not to hurt your current boyfriend...especially if he is in love with you.

Just be honest with him, but I probably would not mention your ex at this stage as this will just hurt him more.

I have been in this situation with an ex and it is really hard, but if you stay with him and you are not happy (like i did) then it will just make both of you miserable....bite the bullet and end it, just don't be too harsh.

What do you mean, hurting? Hello!! You're going back to your ex.

No matter what you say to him now, it's gonna hurt, and its gonna hurt real bad. So dont crush his heart with lies. Just be honest and tell him the truth.

Dont: send him a text, a letter, tell him on the phone or get someone to tell him for you.

Do: meet him face to face, be honest with him and tell him straight. Hurt now will mean he can recover quicker.

Possibility: date both, date neither, leave the country, hire a woman of the night for your ex.

there is no easy and painless way to end a relationship. just be honest and truthful with your boyfriend. the longer you stay with him the harder it will be to finish it. by the sounds of things your boyfriend is a great guy, but thats not enough for a relationship to work. end it now before anyone else gets hurt. good luck.

What you ask is impossible. You can't break up with someone without them feeling hurt even if they secretly want to break up with you. Rejection hurts. It's a simple fact and unavoidable. So just avoid dragging it out and deepening the hurt by prolonging it more than necessary.
