I think it's not true that an electric toothbrush will damage your
gums by brushing within 2 minutes. Depending on how you use,
it will not clean your teeth well. I would suggest that you brush
your teeth manually using either soft or medium brush with
'oval-shaped' head, which can reach the inner most part of
the tooth.
Try brushing it in a circular motion at the front teeth to massage
the gums as well, and then work your way inside 'up and down'
motion on upper left and right rows of teeth, the lower left and
right rows of teeth and finally brush your tongue as well.
By brushing manually, you'll feel much cleaner and better.

No, I've been using one for years, it is a good gum massager, but I still need to use an ordinary toothbrush occasionally to remove stubborn matter from between teeth.

as a basic rule they say you should brush you teeth for 2 minutes, electric toothbrush or not, flossing is key, but some of us know these things and chose not to do it

Actually my dentist told me to use a manual brush. More effective...he said.
