I guess I asked the wrong questions and got some pretty silly answers. Here's my point. I have a little boy, so I am passing on my genes. I thought I was in Love several times in my life... in hindsight I don't think I actually was. The schooling that interests me I wouldn't be able to provide for my little boy, so that would be pointless. I can always make good money, even when changing careers, because I believe anyone can reach their goals if they set their mind to it. But, what's the point!!! Everyone goes through life setting and reaching goals. They buy cars, houses, sometimes even people and crush others aspirations. No matter how you looks at it... it is setting goals and it is constant. Always the same, just dressed up different, but once all is said and done... what was it all about? All the work you did, you can't take with you. Your children's children's children won't remember you. I guess I just don't get it.

This is more a rant than a question really, but you're right in most ways.

just take a look at the recent interest in tracking family history and ancestors, with the rise of technology this will get easier and who knows who will check up on you in the future.

Success is usually defined as what you posses, not to be confused with happiness, which can be taking a walk in the park or an evening with friends.

If you do your best for your son in this hetic world and he leads a normal life, no drugs, drink and raises his own family and think that is the point of having children.

Why not put together an album with your son about family, teach him about relatives that have past away, and then he can continue the tradition of passing these albums down the family.

It's about many things. Mainly the experience. Think of it as if your mom had an aboration well yousee that you could of not had this experience but you do. I often asked the questions as well but I figure I would rather be drunk with life than be sober on answers really. You can climb the philosophical pyramid and really enjoy it but it was the experience not the answers as at the top of the pyramid there is nothing but more questions ;)

It is called the peak of your interest. You have just realized that?
Life is about nothing and everything. It's itself engine. The universe is something that expands into nothing that is something. Life is it's own paradox, that is what makes it fantastic because is so much to know that we can't know anything. You could read Kant, he has the same perception about life- that it's pointless. Life is just the "perpetuum mobile" of the essence of the universe.

oh yes, the world is highly competitive they say. it's a rat race. you have to keep moving with it or you will be in the midst of nowhere. there is a mad rush to settle, to succeed, to become rich somehow. this has become the way of life and the ones who
cannot understand it or accept it, are left alone to lament about it!
