The movie WTC is based on two real Port Authority officers who were rescued from the wreckage. As such, the movie does focus much more on the Port Authority and NYPD as those two groups worked together much more than either did with the Fire Department.

If you would like to see a movie about the firefighters on 9-11, you should watch the documentary called 9/11. It is done by two brothers who were originally doing a film about a probationary firefighter in New York. One of the brothers was with the first fire company to arrive on the scene and was able to film everything that happened in the lobby of WTC1, including what it was like when WTC2 collapsed. The movie is incredibly powerful as you are there with REAL firefighters and can see their confidence turn to doubt and fear as the situation gets progressively worse. You can also see their pain as they hear the bodies of jumpers hitting the roof over their heads and there is nothing they can do about it.

I would call this the most powerful film about the 9-11 attacks because it is all real and they were right there when it happened. I've seen it more than once and it brings me to tears every time.

It is available from Netflix and I would imagine Blockbuster and Hollywood Video have it as well.

it's intention is not to focus on the rescue efforts but a story about who was behind 9/11. It should be known that although there are some facts in the movie, there are is a lot of fiction to make the story more appealing.
