I don't know if there are figures of the exact amount of camps.
but the 3 types were:

Dachau, Auschwitz 1 - people who might well be rehabilitated they were there for punishment.

Auschwitz II - people who had a tiny chance of rehabilitation

Auschwiyz-Bikenau - people who were there to die

The first offical camp in germany was established march 22, 1933, about 12 miles from Munich in a town called Dachau.

Gila River AZ
Heart Mountain. WY
Manzanar CA
Tule Lake CA
and many others here in the USA alone, where men, women, and children, died of the cold, heat, and lack of medical attention.

To answer your question honestly, there were a multitude of concentration camps around the world, some were more brutal than others, but nevertheless they were all a demonstration of mans inhumanity toward his fellow man.

There were literally thousands of them in Germany, because many factories and local authorities had their own camps, which were satellites of one of the larger ones. If they wanted labour, they just put in an order for as many people as they needed for the factory or for things like clearing up after bombs.

There many fewer extermination camps:
Chelmno
Belzec
Treblinka
Sobibor and
Auchwitz-Birkenau which was attached to a huge industrial complex which used thousands of slave labourers who only went to the gas chambers when they were too weak to work.

First off, the others are only including Nazi death camps. The Nazis also had labor camps.

They are forgetting about the Soviet equivalents, and they are also forgetting about things like the American internment camps for ethnic Japanese.

Furthermore, the Japanese had their own concentration camps.

If you follow the attached link, you see that there were many hundreds of concentration camps.

Here is the list of only German ones:
