It's a Murder Mystery night, I need to where a dark three button suit, no-vent shirt and a thin woolen tie with a pork pie hat.

I think it actually refers to the Jacket.. a tuxedo would be a no vent jacket.. it's that flap at the back of the jacket.. So no sports jackets permitted is basically what they are saying.. wear a tux it will do nicely
