because he came out to me, but he lies to our other friends and he's kind of forcing me to lie to them too and I don't feel good about it. My question was deleted. Yahoo says it violates their regulations. However, racist comments and questions seem to be ok. Who said Nazism was over? Yahoo stinks. I'm out of here.

Gee, dear, I have been in both your situations...
Two of my questions were deleted because someone felt insulted... anyhow.. I made a fuss about it...
The serious problem... well when I came out to some of my friends i asked them to lie for me too,... even their parents and so on... I was very young, and that could have affected my situation at school and so on... after all our society is not so welcoming the deifferences...
So, I must take your friend side... You must support him, even in such an unusual way. If we all could be firends, that would not have been necessary, but we are not (and thanks god).

It is distressing to have your questions deleted - especially when you asked them in the hope of a helpful answer. It does seem that there are a lot of questions that escape deletion for violation...

...this is just an allegory of life - everything does not always work for you and, yet, for others it can appear to.

As for what your friend is asking of you. You should address this with him. It is not right for him to ask you to lie for him - but at the same time you need to consider what happens to him if you out him to all of your mutual friends. If he told you he trusts you and values your friendship. As such you should be able to talk to him and let him know how it makes you feel to have to cover for him.

If you are to remain close friends though (and you value hi friendship), I would suggest that you keep quiet about his sexual orientation and just be there to offer him support if/when he does take the decision to let everyone else know.

Good luck!

Hello!! :o) I understand how you feel. But I make a policy to NEVER say ANYTHING about someone else. If someone asks me about someone else - I simply say, "If you want to know something about THEM - then ASK THEM!!" It's a policy that has worked very well for me all these years. Everyone knows that they can't get anything out of me. And as a result - they also know that they can trust me to keep the things THEY share with me - to myself. Craig!! :o)

PS Yahoo rarely makes any sense. I just think it's some guy or girl trying to justify their paycheck. Kinda like when a cop gives a ticket for no apparent reason. It LOOKS like they're doing their job.

Sorry to hear that they deleted your question love. It's a funny game life! Feel honoured that your friend felt confident enough to confide in you. Remember, like the rest of us, he isn't perfect. If you can't cope with what he is asking of you, better to tell him or even let him go as a friend.

I don't have a gay friend so I never was in you situation. You don't have to lie, but you can tell to your gay friend to tell them the true. You decide if you listen to your friend and don't tell the others the true. You said that your friend is forcing you to lie, I think he told you if your his friend you will shut up, so you should talk to him and after that try to ask your other friends what do they think about gays and if a friend of there was gay would they stop being friends? If the answer is yes I think you should shut up and let your gay friend to do what he wants (to lie to the others or to tell them the true).

Yahoo seem to take off questions like the boy who wanted to know how to find out if his friend is gay, but they don't seem to take off homophobic or racist questions. Lets have some answers please Yahoo!

Your not lying your keeping a confidance. He trusted you with his secret so dont go blabbing. The fact is maybe he is not really sure of his sexuality right now he thinks he is gay but he could change his mind.At any rate he is not ready to come out right now so unless he is sleeping with a woman and lying to her really who are you to make him come out now?Dont betray his trust.Just forget he ever told you and act like normal unless he comes on to you.
