I am building a house in which one room will be for meditation and religious chanting. I want the word that I am chanting to have an echo. What type of roof, ie. slanting or flat will be good for this and what should be its height.

The roof and walls should be at least 17 meters from the place you meditate. Remove cushions etc as suggested by others

It's not the roof, it's the walls that cause sound reverberation. They need to be solid, like concrete or block. And no carpet or furniture to absorb the sound

flat roof will be good for this. besides, see to it that there is less of furniture, carpet, curtains etc..
