I never heard anything about a watch. However, Bostonian is Right. And all the people that said that 300k is impossible should stop buying Japanese crap and get a Mercedes or a Rolls.

I have just over 568,000 miles on my 1960 220 SEb. This car has been serviced by Mercedes Benz since day one. They have attached to my grill 5 badges. 100 k, 200k, 300k, 400k and 500k. I personally received the last three ones. If you look at last years S class promo booklet, you can also see my car, It is a dark blue sedan. They called me to see if I would be interested in letting them take pictures of it, and I was very happy about it. But no watch so far, I'll let you know in a few decades if it happens.

The E-class between 1990-1992 is a MUCH better car. I personally would stay away from anything MBZ made between 1995-2006(too much osmosis from Chrysler, and thankfully Damlier dumped the Chrsyler group) My 1992 300CE winds up to a true 7000RPM, has an S-class interior(by todays standards), and is of the last generation when MBZ threw incredible amounts of money to actually BUILD the best cars in the world. I would find a 1-owner(they ARE out there) either 90-92 300E or 300CE coupe(has the hot-rod engine). Both cars are extremely reliable, safe, and has features standard that only some cars are now recieve. Expect to pay between $7000-10,000 for an EXCELLENT example, but then you have the car for a minimum of 5-7 years, and also has a good resale. Don't be in a hurry to get something you might regret down the road. Make sure you take the car out on the hwy, and spend $100 to have an independent shop to check ANY car you are buying. If the seller balks, or protests, or is in a hurry to close the deal...WALK...and don't fall for those 30-day warranties from used car dealers(or extended warranties)...they will make their money by shamming people. Good luck!

No watch, but if the service is done by a Mercedes dealer and the mileage is verified, you WILL get a neat medallion to fasten to your grille. They used to give them out at 100k, 250k, 500k and 1,000k. I suspect that they've dropped the 100k and 250k ones since most cars will easily do that many miles with reasonable care.

I think it's even less than that but they really do. There is an MB Owners Association and if you belong to it they will give you a gift. And I think recently it was a watch.
I don't have that website address with me now but when I get home I can send it to you

I don't know if that's true or not, but the famously bought one back from an indian cab driver, and gave him a brand spanking new one, as it had done over 2.5 million miles. It's in their museum now.

I too very much doubt you'll get a watch for that, but anyone intending to try for interstellar mileage on a Smirker, for gawds sake buy an old one !!!!!!!!!
Well maintained it'll run and run and run, but they newer models will never rack up that sort of distance.

I doubt it, too many older Mercedes Diesels have that now. None of the newer cars (1992 and newer) will make it tho'.
