Virgin means no pre-marital sex.
It's important because the bible told me so... and I loved my God...
It's my choice and it's the right choice for me...
I want to give my best to my only wife.

Virgin is one who NEVER had any kind of sex in any way.
Some 10 to 12 year olds are virgins but they have oral or other sex, and how could they be virgins when they are exposed to some kind of sin and lustful activity.
It is one who is righteous and pure, and is close to God because they are innocent and not tainted by man. Virgins are the ones that when they marry their husband/wife will be true to them honestly, physically, emotionally, because there is not past with others or comparisons.
A true man who values you will wait. If he doesn't or is contrary to your virginity, give him the boot, and the exit.

A virgin is someone who has never had sex.
When I was a teen I was sexually active. So I did not date virgins. People who hold onto their virginity often do so because they're looking for something special that I wasn't willing to provide.
People want different things from their partners. When I was a teen, I was not looking for a long-term monogamous relationship. I knew I probably would never marry someone I dated in High School. I was looking to have the experience of dating different kinds of men. Part of what I wanted from those relationships was a sexual relationship.
If a person who values a sexual relationship tries to date a person who values not having a sexual relationship, either one or both of them will be unhappy.
The same consequence will meet someone who wants to date for fun who is dating someone who's interviewing marriage candidates.
I wouldn't say that either set of values is better or worse. Everyone has their own values and different points of view should be respected.
What's really important is to be honest with yourself about what you value and what you want. You should be honest with your partner. And if you arn't honest with yourself, you can't be honest with others.
Whether a person wants to wait for a special relationship, or whether he/she is personally not ready to engage in a sexual relationship yet, there's nothing wrong with that. They certainly shouldn't be judged, any more than they should judge others who want to make other choices. In the very least, they should be respected for knowing themselves.

I am planning on waiting till marriage because I am religious person and strongly believe that it is important, but isn't it kind of chauvinistic when men say that "my woman has never been touched by another man"?

a virgin is somebody who has never had sexual intercourse in his or her entire lifetime. virginity includes abstinence from both oral and anal sex.
virgins are rare in the world today and our culture does not treat them well, as portrayed in recent movies.
i think we virgins should be treated preciously because i believe sexual morality is right and we are rare and some of the few who still hold common sense in the world today
also my religion teaches me that i cannot get into heaven without being pure.
and it's been scientifically proven that virgins who marry eachother usually end up happier and they last way longer together with a very low divorce rate.
there are many reasons why virginity is the way to go. i just named a few :)

I'm not against pre-marital sex, but honestly, I'm happy that my wife was never touched by other men.
HarMonia: lol, I didn't mean so. But love is possesive, and imagining the she was with another person (girl or boy) hurts. Besides, she doesn't let me watch porn too. :))

well to me having sex before marrige is not really that right. i mean to me i look forward to going on my honey moon with my husband and knowing that this is both our first time. it wouldnt be the same if it wasnt. Most people who i have talked to also regret not waiting til there married. its just not the same kinda feeling of being with the one you love with all your heart and are going to be with for the rest of your life.
