On average, implantation bleeding occurs between 6 to 12 days past ovulation. It is vaginal discharge which usually contains a small amount of pinkish or brownish blood. Only about 1 in 3 pregnant women experience implantation bleeding.
I did have implantation bleeding and my conception date was around May 14, 2005 and I had implantation bleeding around May 31,2005 which is when my regular cycle was to begin, just to give you an idea of the time frame.

It doesn't always happen, but if it does, usually about 2 weeks after the egg is fertilized. Even then, it is a few drops of pinking or brown blood mixed with discharge.
Any heavier bleeding in early pregnancy should be checked by your gynecologist or midwife.

In my case, it happened about 3 days after the bout of sex. But it simply happens after the egg has been fertilized and has implanted in the uterus. (Yay for the egg).
Also, remember that semen can live in the vagina for up to 10 days. That leaves a little room for error in any calculation.
