"I believe that has been the neoconservatives' goal all along, add Syria and Iran to the war."

Oh for goodness sakes, get off the soapbox.

Are not Iran and Syria sponsors of terrorism? Of course they are. Hence they have been players in the War on Terrorism. That isn't some falacy that the "neoconservatives" as you call them, has made up. kwb1965, I am assuming that 1965 is the year of your birth based on your picture. If so, you are acting very irresponsibly for someone your age. I would expect someone your age to put petty political agenda's aside and look at the facts as they are to try to educate the younger members of these boards instead of blindly lead them down a path of misinformation just to promote your idealogies..

The facts are...

The United States has been working diligently with the governments of surrounding countries and the United Nations to deal with both Syria and Iran diplomatically for years. In Irans case, decades. DIPLOMATICALLY Has diplomatically worked? How many sanctions and resolutions does it take before the diplomatic course you are taking isn't enough? How many?

As for involving Syria and or Iran in the war being waged in Iraq, it is Syria and Iran who inserted themselves in that war by allowing foreign fighters to enter Iraq, by crossing their borders, to battle members of the coalition. The coalition has not retaliated against either country militarilly yet. Will they? They may. If they do they are justified. TO DATE they have been trying to get the governments of both countries to take control of THEIR borders stopping the foreign fighters from entering Iraq.

Now, "The US embassy is being attacked in Damascus. Will the "war on terror" be extended to Syria"

Where have you been? How ridiculous of a question is this? Are you implying that Syria has been an innocent bystander in the War on Terror and now the United States is going to invade Syria without having just cause? How absurd. To answer your question, it may happen. I don't believe that the United States will just start lobbing bombs in Syria's direction though. Syria knows they won't do this. Syria knows that we haven't reached that point. They know that they can continue working against the United States because they can hide behind meaningless resolutions handed down by the United Nations. They know that there are very vocal governments around the world that want the United States to fail in Iraq for self serving purposes so the Syrians are not yet going to be condemned by the international community. They know that people like you and kwb1965 exist here in our own country that are working against its own government furthering emboldening them in their cause and that this is making it difficult for the United States to do what needs to be done.

So no, I don't think this is going to cause the United States to attack Syria.

By the way, for those of you that clearly are not supporting the United States, thanks for helping Syria in their mission.

Missed that but it would be fine with me if we leveled Syria. It does nothing but promote terror and war.

It should be...
Syrians are equally guilty of an oppressive occupation in Lebanon.

Unless the Syrian government comes to it's senses and realizes it's in grave danger of alienating the entirety of the free world...
if they can wake up...they can take their own anti-terror action and save themselves...

...as Lebanon should have.
