There is a device available which can perform the operation you require. It's design, like all great inventions, is sublime in it's simplicity.

This device is usually steel in construction although there are many variations. It's common name is quite simply the 'Bottle Opener'

A cursory browse through your local supermarket should reveal the abundant availability of these practical devices.

If you prefer something a little more profound, try Tantric chanting at just the correct frequency to make the liquid expand and pop the top off all by it's self.

if it is a wine bottle get hold of a medical needle and a 20ml syringe, open the syringe so its full of air, slide the needle through the cork and empty the syringe of air into the bottle, the extra pressure pushes the cork out and its really impressive (useful too if you are given a bottle of wine on a first aid duty and have no corkscrew)

This one works on glass bottles in spite of the undeniable fact that it cuts the bottle in a million/2: - soak rather string in gasoline or kerosene - tie the string lengthwise alongside the bottle i.e. over the backside down one facet, over the precise, down the different facet - set hearth to the string - after it burns out (~10 seconds), it could have heated the bottle up in basic terms alongside the line the place the string became into. Now, faucet the bottle sharply against a step or facet and it will cleanly ruin alongside the line. (My brother and that i attempted this, it works.)
