I could be that you stuck it in at the wrong angel and hit something inside of yourself. I did that once and i went to the doctor and they told me that i had to give it time it if continued to hurt i was to come back. sorry if this is no help i tried.

Tampons have been known to cause toxic shock in women. I don't know what the symptoms are but you might want to consult a physician to find out what's going on. Sorry if this doesn't help any.

sometimes using tampons can make your stomach cramps worse. If this happens to me I usually use sanitary towels for a while, until my period is lighter, then go back to a lower absorbency tampon.

Could be that you bruised yourself, just give it a day and see if the pain is still there and then maybe go see your GP

try alternating between pad/ tampon.your not the only one! this happens to me alot,im not sure why.but as you said ,and you are right it is very painful. are you using to high of absorbency?
