A relationship has trust , intimacy and honesty.
A fling has only intimacy.

A fling, by definition, is a short term thing where one or both partners have no intention of getting seriously involved.
A relationship involves at least some sort of commitment.

a relationship is a mutual bond between 2 people, a fling is something you know no good can come from it, but its exciting so you go forthe ride anyways

Relationship = no confusion, worries, or panic when it's time to commit.
Fling = you don't care what happens tommorow, as long as you wake up with a human the next morning. and the word commitment might give you fits.
