I agree he was a good soccer player, but being called a "GOD".
There are better players than him and I never hear anyone call them "GOD".

He's over rated...not a God by any stretch of the imagination.
I lost total respect for him in the world cup; his behavior was so unprofessional...he fell for a stupid kids trick.

you know and we all know that Zidane has been the best footballer in the world since Diego Maradona retired. you are just mad at what he did to your little Italian boy. he is not overrated he has proven him self and he has won. If you want to say someone is overrated well look no further then David Beckham he has won **** and he never will alls he has is a good kick from the free kick spot thats it he can't control a game like Zidane. Zidane is not overrated he has simply been the best footballer almost the last 13 years.

Yes u are correct no player can be called God, not even Pele for that sake. But by no means should u call Zidane over-rated even if ur a die-heart Italian fan.No player in the Italian side is individually as overall as good as Zidane.

It's because of soccer "fans" like you that I am so glad that the NFL regular season has started. You people can't take defeat or admit that a team other than yours is better. You are racists, finger-pointers, and sore losers. You not only make your country look bad, but give a bad representation of all soccer fans. Football has begun and hockey is not far behind. I won't have to put up with your salacious comments until June 2007 when the NHL season is over.
I thought that I could come to this category and learn more about the great game of soccer. Instead all I see are the arrogant attitudes, and the levels of ignorance that many of you foul-mouthed trolls live by.
Again, I do not feel this way about the knowledgeable, mature, and honorable soccer fans who are out there.

Zidane is definitely NOT overrated. He's a really great footballer if not one of the best.

I don't think he should be called a GOD but he's one the best soccer players ever i can't think of alot of players better than him except maybe Pele or Maradonna, Ronaldinho has a chance but still has alot to prove before he can be considered better than Zidane

Well look Juventina, everyone has their own perspective right? Thats why we all are here. The thing is that some footballers are out of ordianary and Zizou has to be on top of the list. So he's just called the God of soccer cause there is no adjective or compliment beyond that.

zidane is not overrated
every one takes money according to how valuable he is....ronaldinho might be a little overrated..because he wasnt good in the tournament nor in any brazil match...however he is good with barca...so he doesnt deserve all the money he take
As for zidane he was good with real madrid and france
so he deserves all the money he takes
as for the god part...first he is called god father not god...the team consider him as a godfather......they really have the right if zidane wasnt there for france....france wouldnt have got the cup you know....

I think the Italian team is overrated. Oh, didn't you cheat agaist Australia? Oh, I guess it's ok if it was agaist Hiddink?

its true and look the same thing happened with maradona they even made a religion in his name and life so i think that you have to let others believes to them and as you thinking hes overrated might be that the times he played (his "wonder years") those new players would been at that level so everything has its own phase and pase
