My ex husband and I went to court a week ago for temp. orders. He is supposed to have visits with our son ( 16 months old) for 4 hours on saturdays. This past saturday he showed up for an hour and left. He has a drug problem and I really don't think he would be the best person for our son to be around. The judge ordered him two months of supervised visits then after that he can pick him up on saturday and bring him back sunday. I was just wondering if I keep track of his visitation record could I appeal him gettin those un-supervised visits?

I agree with getting proof of your ex's drug problem. Your son is only 16mos old, and your ex could be endangering his life. It is a serious issue for more reasons than one. Will your ex take his son with him while he goes to get his drugs? Will your son be in the presence of him using and/or other people using as well? What kind of care will your son get by someone who could be "out of it", what if he is out cold and the baby is unattended, or left with a person you don't know who's wasted.....LOTS to consider, and oh well, you gotta' do what you gotta' do, your son is depending on you for his well being. Gotta' protect him any way you can!!!!!

Keep a record of EVERYTHING. Dates and times of calls, visits, anything. A written record has a better chance of standing up in court then our word versus his. Good luck!

It's still his son, one night a week is already not enough. But if his drug problem is serious and puts your child into risk, Maybe threaten him, telling him that he needs to clean up his act or he might risk losing visitation rights altogether.

For the sake of your son, you need to give your ex-husband a chance. The son needs father no matter what???
Try to see a good point in him after all he was once your husband.
