Obviously Saddam has made a mistake by attacking its neighbors. Big powers have long term interest in the region. The question is who is the beneficiary. Bush is probably framing his global policies in view of the reason that America is only global power.

9/11 was not the reason Irak was invaded. So I don't see why the connection is made in the 1st place.
