I go to a country festival every year and sit in the VIP section...5th row from the stage dead centre. Don't get better than that.....untill the propane stove in the VIP kitchen catches fire.....then we gotta move it!!!!!!

Usually, outdoor concerts last a while so you will probably not stay in the same place the whole time. If you are going to a rock type of concert, you will probably want to avoid the almost to the front of the stage section because it is where the mosh pit can just randomly break out and if you get stuck in it then you better watch out!
If its a band you really like, I'd probably want to be standing in a nice place towards the front of the stage, but not where people are congested together. At some point you may want to sit down and then i would recommend finding a place where others are siting down at because then you won't be trampled if the crowd goes wild. The last outdoor concert i went to was Lollapalooza 1996 in New Orleans. The event lasted all day, but i had to work and did not get there till 4pm. I was glad that i wasn't there all day though because it was really hot and humid that day. I made it just in time to see Rancid, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, and then Metallica. It was awesome! I was very glad i went even though it was only for the last part of it!

I have never been to an outdoor concert. The Beach Boys were at Kirby Park and I wanted to go sooo badly, but had to work!! I would sit on a blanket in the grass, probably.

depends on who it is. I like to be up close to the action, so the first row center stage, singing badly at the top of my lungs and dancing like crazy sounds like my kind of moment.
Save the blanket under the stars in the grass for a more intimate moment..... ;-)

In the middle I suppose. I just went to an outdoor concert last Saturday. I was pretty close to the stage but was in the middle section.

only been to one.... (this past Saturday was my first ever! and it was awesome!).... but we had the blanket under the stars in the grass. Next time, we'll be a whole lot closer. Rascal Flatts were the best!
