Emotional pain!
Oddly, this is not listed as a type of pain. Is it a property of the limbic region of the brain? If so, is it, too, ultimately physical in nature. Does it come from the mind acting on the emotion centers of the brain? The difference between emotional and physical pain touches on the whole body/mind dichotomy which people don't all agree on. Is the mind, emotional, and spiritual function independent, separate from and qualitatively different from the physical? Does matter produce spirit? Does spirit produce matter? Are they just separate and co-existing entities which come together in physical life? Why is emotional pain often a signal for judging the person, which seems to mean the more emotional, the less morally upright. What of a mother's pain at the death of her baby? Isn't this kind of pain as agonizing and as natural as any physical pain? The fact that people will sometimes subject their bodies to physical pain in order to dull emotional pain certainly suggests that it can be.

No contest emotional pain is so, so much worse. I have a great deal of physical pain every day (I have a disease or two). I also have lost quite a few people in my life...........the worst was losing my mom (and the rest of my family) at 11 years old. I have lost a boyfriend and a lot of friends to death as well. A couple of other relatives........ My point is I experience both. I have experienced a lot of death, which is my emotional pain. I experience acute, severe physical pain every day. I would much rather be in physical pain and have all the people I love (and need) in my life. I would take more pain to have them again. You get used to physical pain.............

This is hard to answer since physical pain can become emotional, and emotional pain can become physical. But if I had to choose one over the other, I'd say emotional pain.

Actually, both types of pain are crucial to growth. Without heartbreak we never know love. Without a bruise we never know caution and care.
So, both are vital to becoming the best person you can be.
Or, on the flip side, too much physical pain ends happiness on the physical front, which usually leads to emotional pain, which is the majority of suicides. So, I suppose no pain leads to ignorance and malfeasance and apathy, and physical pain leads to unhappiness which turns into emotional pain which leads to death.
MMMMM..... Interesting....

Emotional. That could take a lot of time to get over. Physical pain is more temporary, and there's medication to fix that! I have a high pain tolerance -- physical, that is.

Definitely emotional pain cos they are harder to heal and sometimes when u think that it has been healed, it flares up again under some unfortunate circumstances.Physical pain, on the other hand, can be easily alleviated using drugs and to a lesser extent using your mental powers.
