Correct me if I am wrong but mandatory evacuation means that all those who are capable of evacuating do so. Also, those who do not have the means, the government will provide one....or is it if you do not have means of evacuation it's your fault... how can we even say the people that stayed behind during Katrina are wrong and they should not be taken care of.

Mandatory means get out now because we may not beable to get you out. You think the government could get people down there during the hurricane? You are so uninformed. It is those peoples fault. They should have left, but they didnt. Even if they needed help, they should have asked long before the hurrican ever got there. Its not like they only had five minutes of warning before hand, they had plenty of time to get out. Those who dont follow a mandatory, which is law, evacuation dont deserve handouts. They deserve a kick in the butt, and a book to get educated.

However, the people that left everything behind and lost it all deserve help. They at least followed orders and tried. They deserve a brand new house :)

Because a lot of the idiots was able bodied people who was flat out too stupid to leave even though they was warned.....besides do you not watch the news at all?!? Have you seen what some of these people are spending FEMA money on?!? Our tax dollars hard at work to buy people tickets to the new orleans saints games and 200 dollar bottles of champagne. And THAT is why they shouldn't still be supporting all those people, it doesn't take this long to get a job hello!!!

Lets face it.. The American system sucks...it's more than a year on and it still looks like a war zone.. look at the south pacific where the Tsunami hit..they are up and running for all intents and purposes.. and some areas were extremely poor.. what does that say about America.. The people in the SP didn't sit around and wait for others to rebuild their lives, they got on with the job. Poor is poor.
