It depends....if my country was disrespecting the rights of my countrymen, then I would be all for change and stand with those protecting my human rights. If my countrymen were free and some country was trying to invade that...I'd kick *** and become the insurgent!

I would be part of the defense of my Country. I would be helping the government fend off the invaders. In Iraq, the insurgents are doing the opposite of what the government wants. They want freedom but the insurgents wnat to keep terrorism as the form of government. If I was an insurgent in your scenario, I would have to shoot at the American military. Think about it.

Definately. If a foreign power invaded and tried to 'liberate' me and change our way of life and our government to one that is completely alien, the of course, I would fight. I would be defending my family and I would do that to my last breath.
The comment above is false, Saddam never fed people into meat grinders, that is another lie. After the fall of Saddam an investigative journalist went into Baghdad and tried to find anyone who could support this theory, He was tasked with getting pictures of the infamous meat grinders and would have had a headline, liberated from evil , or some such thing. He found that there was no truth to the rumor, in fact the person who alarmed the west with this story had not even been in baghdad for the last 20 years and was not in a position to know about it. The meat grinders had apparently been at Ubu Gharaib, the staff and the doctors and mortician of that jail had no clue about these meat grinders, the troops in the jail would have loved to have got their hands on them for propoganda purposes, but they never existed. the only way people were executed was by hanging or gunshot. and then only after a trial.
I am not defending Saddam and he must answer for his own crimes, but these wild propaganda stories where put out to increase popular support for an invasion. like the WMD, and many of the rape room stories, the meat grinders where actually more lies.
You have in the USA today a leader who had detained and tortured thousands of people all over the world, and the vast majority of whom have been innocent of any crime. He has the NSA spy on anyone, without a warrant or probable cause, you can be detained, have your house invaded and ransacked all without charge or trial, or probable cause and you can be detained indefinately, tortured and even put to death. because you have a paranoid delusional meglamaniac with a messianic complex in the whitehouse.

You mean liberate from an oppresive ruler who threw people into wood chippers and cut people up into pieces and send the pieces to their families. No i wouldnt become an insurgent if someone was trying to protect me from that.

It depends on the reason they entered my country. If they came to take over and force me to live a life of oppression, then yes, I would fight back. If they came to deliver me from oppression, then I would join them in taking out the oppressors.
