Marco Amelia: Sure candidate, right after Buffon
Antonio Mirante: Too young for 2010. There is Buffon, Amelia, De Sanctis, Curci and Rome before him.
Daniele Bonera: Already part of the 2006 World Champions squad and great asset for the future of the National Team
Giorgio Chellini: He is the Under 21 cap. and he will be surely part of the 2010 Team.
Manuel Pasqual: Good player, but I think he will not be part of the 2010 National Team, because Italy has better solid alternatives in his position.
Andrea Barzagli: The natural successor for one of the two Italian center defenders (Cannavaro / Nesta). Sure candidate.
Cesare Bovo: He may be one of the big surprises for Donadoni. I think he will fight for a spot until the end.
Marco Donadel: Same as for Bovo.
Pasquale Foggia: very good player... needs to grow technically and tactically. I doubt he is going in South Africa.
Ricardo Montolivo: He is the under 21 jewel. Technically excellent he lacks of continuity... maybe he needs to play more with his Team (Fiorentina)
Raffaele De Martino: Too young, he needs experience in Serie A. Not a candidate.
Antonio Cassano: The best young player Italy has at this time. He has talent and seems he is improving enormously under Capello's guidance. The most sure candidate of going to the World Cup.
Giuseppe Rossi: Very young but very talented player: I think he will soon re-join the Serie A and he will gain a spot in the Italian National Team. He needs to play more on his Team.
Giampaolo Pazzini: Too many players in his position... if he scores constantly in the next 4 years... he may have a chance. He needs to play more on his Team.
Fabrizio Miccoli: One of my favorite players. His talent was underestimated by Juventus and by Lippi, I doubt he will have more chanches in Donadoni's Team.
Raffaele Palladino: Another Under 21 jewel. Same as for Rossi and Pazzini he needs to play more on his Team.

I think some of them will:
Amelia is a good goalkeeper, not as good as Buffon, but I think he will continue to be the second goalie of Italy in 2010
Bonera now that he plays for AC Milan he has the duty to prove what he is capable to do and the fact that he was in the reserves list of players for the WC says that he could have a chance in the future
Same thing about Chiellini that has a great responsibility now that Cannavaro, Zambrotta & Thuram left Juve
Barzagli is a good defender he should mature a little and gain more experience. He should be a little more decided, maybe by going to a big team he can improve more his abilities as a central defender
Foggia young but talented we should see his progress in the future
Montolivo he scored 2 goals with the U 21 that made them qualify for the play-offs. Take him in consideration
Cassano well he's got talent but needs to grow up and be more responsible for the team. I have to admit I don't like his selfishness sometimes and the fact he thinks he's better than the others. What he'll become in the future for Italy depends only by him
Rossi very good striker, just 19 years old, he is given on loan to Newcastle by Man Utd. I think he will defenetly be part of the team, cause he has got talent & personality.
About the others:
I haven't seen them play a lot or nothing and I can't give a judgemnet about them.

Part of them will be playing in the World Cup 2010. Buffon will play, that's for sure as well as Fabio Cannavaro. Maybe the others will be as substitutes.

But I guess on 2010 we should have this core:
Buffon
Pirlo
Gattuso (*)
Perrotta (*)
De Rossi
Gilardino
(*) they could stay on the bench
And Aquilani, Marchionni, Semioli should have their place in your selection...

a lot of them are the best from italy and will make it far (as nat. team) so hope the coach get to draft them all
