The car was leaking oil from the top ( cam seal?) tow truck driver drive car onto tow truck took to dealer. dealer calls me says car wont start and has no compression. has anyone experience this sort of thing before and what did you do?

Good news and some bad news. Blown head gasket. I'd put money on that. Good news, you definatley don't need a new engine, bad news -- could be costly depending on what has been damaged. A head gasket job isn't typically expensive, but replacing damaged parts can be. In my honest opinion, get it rebuilt, or buy a reuilt engine. Screw the dealer, you'll pay too much.

my mother and father in law own a chrysler, not sure which engine, but it broke the timing belt and bent every valve in the heads. you see normally engines are built with enough clearance between the valvles and piston that this wont happen, i guess chrysler hasnt figured this out yet.

I took it home and fixed it myself. Broken camshaft. Bought one from junkyard for $25, including journals. Runs fine now. (But I must admit, it took me a long time to figure out what the problem was. Finally I just jerked the valve cover off, and voila! --case closed).

Timing belt could be broken , that would cause no compresion and possably bent valves
