The last election was a tricky one for me. I do not belong to any particular party, I look at the individual and vote accordingly. I did not feel Bush was the best for the job, but the timing of the election made me feel it was not a good time for change nor for argument amongst ourselves. We needed to appear more united than we sometimes do. For me, it was an issue of security for the people of the United States. Electing another at that time would have sent a confusing message to those who do not think as we do and would not have been good for the whole.

A good and fair question.
I support our President because I truly believe that he understands that we have allowed certain threats to grow unchecked through policies of placating, through too much moral ambiguity, and through moral relativism. He is not afraid to take a stand, and stand by it. He isn't led by opinion polls. He understands that his primary job is to defend this country, not to appease every other country in the world.
I support this president because he gets what's at stake here, and he's strong enough to ignore the weak willed characters that have sprung up in this country since the 1960s. Too many people with influence in our society want instant gratification, but the President seems to understand that this war is for our children and our children's children. It can't be won over a weekend. The cancer has been allowed to spread too far. It will take time to eradicate it.
I understand that in cleaning up the mess that was allowed to build for decades, we need to sacrifice. The people of our grandparents generations knew all about sacrifice. Society today whines if their latte isn't just right. If we need to sacrifice right now to win this war, most people are willing. Unfortunately, most people don't have access to the media like the whiners do.
Anyway, I support our president because he has a clear vision of the enemy, and is willing to fight to protect my daughters' future.

He is a strong leader. He is probably the only one with guts to fight and defeat the menace of terrorism which has vitiated the peace of world as a whole. He talks straight and sticks to what he says. He is simple and sees the world either as black or white. Remember what he said after 9/11. Either you are with us or with the terrorists! Despite revereses he carries on. He needs to be supported strongly to obliterate the terror menace.

Of course you or other people will never be satisfied with our president. Most people will just remember the bad and not the good. hopefully they can do more Good then bad, in GWB's case I'm not sure if he's on the positive side or negative.

Because, mostly, he has it right. I entirely agree with his policy on Afghanistan and Iraq. I do not agree with his policy on stem cells, or on several other religion-related issues. No leader will ever be entirely acceptable to anyone, and GWB is no exception.
