The Argentines speak Spanish with some phonetic differences and dialect words. In particular, they tend to use a 'zh' sound for the Castillian (peninsular Spanish) 'th'.

Messi began playing soccer in his town Rosario for a club named Grandoli when he was Five years old, then he was transferred to Newell’s Old Boys where he actually started his sport career in 1995. He was there until he turned thirteen years old in 2000.
Then Messi moved to Spain in 2000 because he had a growth problem, and when he was there he began playing for Barcelona.
I really like Messi; he's the best and my favorite!!!!!!!!!!

From the age of 11 years old messi suffered from a growth hormone deficiency, as his parents were unable to pay for treatment in Argentina they decided to move to Barcelona Spain. Two years later aged 13 he tried his luck at FC Barcelona, despite his young age, he excelled at the trial, and they offered to pay for his treatments if he joined them, he rapidly found himself starting for for the B - Team, averaging more than a goal a game. In October 2004 Lionel made his debut in the first team against RCD Espanyol. But he had to wait 7 months before scoring his first senior goal against Albacete Balompie on May 1st 2005, he was only 17 yrs 10 mths & 7 days old making him the youngest player ever to score a goal for FC Barcelona. IN June 2005 he played for the Argentina U - 20 team that won theFootball World Youth Championship in the Neatherlands, picking up the GoldenBoot as top scorer with 6 Goals, and the Golden Ball for being the best Player in the Tournament. On June 27th FC Barcelona renewed his contract until 2010, stating a clause of 150 million euro`s (which is 25 million more than his team mate at FC Barcelona Ronaldinho). He made his debut into senior Football for Argentina in August 4th 2005 against Hungry, but only lasted 3 minutes before he was shown the red card, forcing him to leave the field in tears after his first attempt at goal, he said at the next game he played for Argentina against Paraguay " this is a re-debut, the first one was a bit short ". Messi obtained his Spanish Citizenship on September 25th 2006. Since 2004 he has played 38 times and scored 10 goals for FC Barcelona. Since 2005 he has played 10 times and scored 2 goals for Argentina. Spanish is the official language in Argentina.
