It isn't. The difficult part is trying to define morality, much less come to an agreement of what is moral and what is not.

Pick a president, and I can cite numerous examples of immoral behavior and moral behavior.

Most people take short cuts, and basing their views on morality, tend to choose some form of moral relativity.

A good question indeed. There has always been encouragement for an educated citizenry, on the theory that such could/would make better choices with respect to government than a bunch of yahoos. Part of the problem is, I think, that most people do not have a good grounding in a basis for moral principles -- all too often, it is based on religious concepts, which can get fuzzy in translation. It is much more sound to use evolution for such a basis -- the theory of evolution applies to societies as well as species.

And who gets to decide what good morals are? In order to have good governance, you need a populace that cares enough to become genuinely knowledgeable about the issues and to VOTE. Morality has nothing to do with it.

You have it backwards. In this country, we elect those that are corrupt, sleazy laiars and cheats. They are immoral, and the government is immoral. But, what can we do when we are lied to and cheated every single day and those we elect are puppets for the surpr rich and powerful? If we vote for one candidate, the super rich and powerful will dip their hands in and... well, don't you recall what happened to get Dubya elected both times?

The people are beginning to realize that this country is run by the super rich and powerful for the sole purpose of benefitting the super rich and powerful!

What we must do is get our act together and oust those lying, sleazy parasites, the demagogues, and elect educated, honest philosophers and then hold them accountable for each and every promse made!

That isn't exactly true!

Politicians aren't moral, thats why they get elected! What good is it if everyone else is? They still vote for their pocketbook and could give a rats A__ about anyone else!! How then can they claim to be moral if they believe they have no duty to their fellow countrymen?

How?
When living human kind is all following the Mummy with two hands stretching out blindly leading and searching the way back to the graveyards bringing along all the little children on planet earth.
What can the dead do for living human kind on planet earth?
Why don't let the dead rest in peace?
Who is busy in digging up graveyards on planet earth.
Why don't living human kind follow our creator on planet earth.
Why are we following the dead on planet earth.
