Oh, but in some ways they have. I would not have enjoyed some of the aspects of feudal society... Like serfdom. Nor things further back, like slavery.
You have some point... things aren't advancing as fast as we can wish. But changes that last never did happen quickly.

Hmmm... I'd say with only a 30% or so average turnout of eligible voters in any election (IIRC), by rights things should be getting 70% worse with each one. We're beating the odds!

Seriously, I would ask who says voting is supposed to make things BETTER? The purpose of voting is to maintain a self-correcting political system so that you will be free to make things better for yourself. The right to PURSUE happiness, not the right to have it handed to you on a silver platter (or me either or anyone else for that matter, not just you personally).
I don't know how old you are or how long you have been voting for, but I've been kicking about on this planet watching politics for several decades now. Perhaps it gives me a different viewpoint on things. From what I can see, things ARE getting better and KEEP getting better, in between getting worse. That see-saw process is the self correction at work.
What issues do you care about? There isn't a single one I can think of that has gotten in all respects worse in my lifetime or even in recent years -- which isn't to say that everything or even a majority of things has gone how I would have wanted them, but at least it hasn't deteriorated to the point I felt the need to start the next revolution. A couple times I've thought it was coming close, but the system corrects itself a few years later and heads back the other direction.
The only thing that has gotten consistently worse (starting in about the late 1960's and gaining momentum every year, it seems) is the polarization and partisan political bickering and inflamatory rhetoric by people who don't understand majority rule or checks and balances, but simply want "my way or the highway." But that is not the result of voting not working, if anything it would be the cause of it. Voting works better when people get together and discuss things with the people on the other side of the issue, in order to figure out where you can all agree to come together rather than stnding as far apart as humanly possible and bashing at each other.

No one ever said voting would make things better. Voting makes people, the heart of a country, believe they can make a difference in their country, even if only a small one. It keeps morale up and makes people feel like they contribute. It also makes it possible for blame to be put on us if something goes wrong, because after all, we put them in office. But all in all, voting is better than the alternative. Things are better this way, but some people still want to be negative nancies and look at the bad.

probably wont get more desirable proper rapidly no be counted who's elected. the U. S. economy is basically too great and the recession is basically too deep to strengthen interior of many years. it truly is going to take to the subsequent election and previous till there might want to be progression no be counted who's the President. besides the undeniable fact that, a foul determination now can throw up roadblocks to a fix. proper shop that in ideas. Will a heavier tax burden on the businesses truly help? Or will it develop the cost to the taxpayers even as the businesses develop their expenditures after their prices (taxes) bypass up? honest question. i imagine a severe company tax will harm specially the undesirable and center type individuals and in no way harm the businesses in any respect.
