What are his powers?

For lack of a better comparison, Thor is the Superman of the Marvel Universe. He is very powerful in strength, has flight with aid from his hammer Mjolnir, and can use lightning as well as travel between dimensions by using Mjolnir. There are some other magics he can use when needed, and Thor is considered the mightiest superhero in the Marvel Universe.

Thor used to be able to make dimensional vortexes with his hammer by whirling it around his head, and he could use them to transport himself or others to other dimensions. I don't know if he still has this power in addition to the others that have already been mentioned.

I always thought that his greatest power, or weakness, if you look at it that way, was his pride and the way he feels he must live up to Asgard and Odin. Half the fights Thor gets into are over things like 'honor', and could be avoided if he wasn't an egotistical god.

That's why you don't see people with bumper stickers that say 'What would THOR do..." You just don't expect much subtlety out of a guy whose major approach to life is to hit every problem with this big sledge hammer..

Thor is an ancient god. I know that he can fly, call down lightning and thunder, have immense strength, and can withstand quite a wallop. On top of all that, He weilds Mjollnir the protector of gods and men alike. I know that He had gloves and belt that gave him strength in the myths, but I don't know if he requires them in the comics. Thor is one of the strongest beings in the Marvel universe and one of the hardiest. He could withstand being hit by tank shells, particle beams, bullets, explosions, most anything. I'm not sure if he can 'jump' to Asgard at any time or not.

Not very. He may be god of thunder, but he gets his butt kicked all the time, and without his hammer he's even less of a hero. I am quite surprised at how weak they made his character, when you compare him to others he isn't all that tough.
