You might need to hold your tongue but do set healthy boundaries from the get go, don't let things get out of hand. It's hard when your in confined spaces like you are, but you will need to make the best of it and maybe spend asmuch time out as you can. I know that you shouldnt have to be out all the time just to keep your sanity, but it's better than yelling and screaming at them and then having to see them for the next few months. Good Luck.... :)

Well, if you have to room with them, you are going to have to sit them down and have a blunt, but polite conversation. Rooming is a two way street, and they need to respect your needs as well as you need to respect theirs. I'd just try to talk it out. And pray for the best. You haven't specified what you are irritated about that is upsetting you so. But, at least try and talk it out, if you can't, I'd let them know you definitely need to make some other arrangements. It's not worth the stress to either of you or what the stress could lead to.

Sounds like you're going to have to practice some self-control and patience. Or you could try telling the person that you like privacy and prefer to have a lot of space and quiet time to yourself. Maybe that'll get the point across.

Well depends on what makes them irrating and annoying, if its something trivial just ask them to stop like be quiet so you can do work, they should respect that, maybe they'll go out for awhile. If that can't resolve it (I assume this is college) request a transfer.

say: excuse me, I need you to do me a favor. Im (studying, resting, watching tv, etc) and you are just being to noisey, and I cant concentrate fully when you keep talking. How about you and me go see a moive or something and have some fun, but now, i need some "me" time. Please respect what I am requesting and we will turn out to be great friends.

You really have to tell her/him directly man. It's the best way to deal with the person. You'll just end up going through more sh*tty stuff if you wanna tell indirectly. =)
