It is not a dream but a reality which India is aiming at. If you have the potential, you should aim at and give it a go.
Inida does stand a chance to win the world cup. The two allrounders are an asset to the Indian team. But in the final analysis all wings of the team would have to perform in order to bring home the cup.

With two allrounders in our team we can't think of winning the world cup. If we access it this way then South Africa will win the cup with many more all rounders. Cricket is a team game and the team will only win if they can perform collectively and give their 100% on the field. Consistency is the key word for India.

It is good to have all rounders in the team, which India was lacking so far. However, it is the ability to consistently perform in different conditions that will decide India's chances of winning the World cup. Dhoni and Pathan were roaring togers with tha bat under Indian & familiar sub-continent conditions, but were dumb cats in West Indies. It's all in the ability and mind.

G'day Disa s,

Thanks for your question.

India can certainly dream of winning the World Cup. Whether it will is another question.

India has moved up to third on the ICC ODI cricket ratings swapping places with Pakistan. However, India is still ten points between South Australia and 18 behind Australia.

While Indian fans can enter the World Cup with some hope, they still have a way to go.

I have attached sources for your reference.

Regards

Dream we must. Not only even Dhoni and Pathan have to dream. Dream is the essential prerequisite for success.

ofcourse...no on can stop from dreaming....but ill again like 2 point that india is a weak bowling side...and ODIs these days r won by bowlers coz every team now has phenomenol batsmen n all rounders....and i never agree that a wicket keeper should b included in the all rounder category...pathan is an all rounder...but more of a batting all rounder...india needs ganguly back n balaji n zaheer if they need 2 strengthen thier bowling line....u cant play bowlers like sreesanth ,RP, munaf at the expense of zaheer n balaji....and tthey need a captain like ganguly!!

I Can understand your hesitation of calling can we dream of instead of Whether our Team will win World cup. This mentality is the problem not only with you but with our team too.

It is not Individuals who are going to get us world cup but a team effort. If we were able to display it... we will get it
But are we very strong in our AIM
