I remember a book from when I was a kid that had several stories in it, the only one I remember was something about gold and a dog getting chopped up. And I only remember becasue it was so appalling. Does this ring any bells, what was the name of the story?

I dont remember anything else, and Im looking for the name of the story, so I can look up the book. It seems like there were rival neighbors...one neighbor planted the other neighbors dog to grow gold? I dont know, it was probably ten years ago and I have a terrible memory!

Check "World Mythology" by Rosenberg
while it may not have that particular story, it has a bibliography listing for Chinese fairy tales/myths that might help

Unable to tell you anything by that clue, perhaps those are of non-important part of the story, or just a picture only, nothing to do with the story line.

Hi there, I asked my friend who is from China if she knew the story you were talking about. She said that she wasn't familiar with that one but if you are interested in fairy tales from China, here are three websites she forwarded on to me. Enjoy!
