What is required is water in a liquid form so the planet's climate must be between 32 degrees F and 220 degrees F. Astronomically that is a hard bill to fill but given the number of stars and galaxies it is not unrealistic to believe that we are not alone.

may be if we can locate water and gas and oil and / or other mineral resources on other planets as the world would fight all future military and economic wars for the clash of its interests in resources as is being done in iraq and afghanistan....
