People have a million different definitions for love, so I offer this one into contention. When I say love, I mean of one person for another. When I see that in play, the associated behaviors are often protective, possessive and loyal, as if they are afraid that what they covet will be destroyed or taken away. What do you think?

Love in the broader sense is affection towards another. It shall not be bottled up for a narrow sense of desire towards the other sex.

My opinion is that love is a very complex emotion that very few of us really know how to handle. Its even hard to accurately identify if you are in love. There are times you think you are...and you are not. Then you don't feel you are and you most surely are. Then you find out later in life that nothing you had previously comes anywhere close to the love you suspect you have...that is if indeed you are now. Get my drift.
All you really know is that you have some kind of grip around your heart and everything you do can be second guessed.
People do many things in the name of love. Many die without having a clue. You might as well accept your connotations, or observations if you will...they are as good as any other...
One thing you can be sure of is, it is different in each situation and with each person. When your heart is broken though, there is no doctor, no matter how high his degree that can mend it.

I agree with you, I know a few people who love but act as if there love will be taken away. They have always been possessive and they act loyal but really aren't. They try to be protective but it always comes out wrong. I think they are scared and can't deal with realizing there relationship is not right. They are scarred to be by themselves and find some one new. Just an opinion.

I think you're right. My impression is that if each spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend would allow the other freedom to develop as many skills and reach as many goals as possible, their relationship would be much better and that would be true love. Assuming they were committed to each other, of course.

No,

Love does not breed from fear.
Fear has nothing to do with love.

You can know this only if you can love.
Only then you can know it is different than fear.

Otherwise you are only a scared bunch of thoughts bred from
fear.

I suppose that's a valid deffinition, but I like to think of Love as the soul's recoglition of it's counterpart.
