Mainly financially, but what happens when Opec has no more control? Defending other countries with millitary support is also my question?

..its not the US per-se ... its the banks that do the big loaning and make all the money. contrary to what most people know ... the federal reserve bank is the one that makes all the huge transactions and it is NOT part of the govt ... however it does put the govt in debt as well as the population and anyone else it can because that is how it makes money ...and just for a little kicker they have legislation passed that guarantees those loans (at least the interest on them) is repayed by ur taxes... it cant go on forever your right ... eventually there will be a huge crash and the average citizen who is in debt will be the one that loses out bigtime ... but the banks dont care because they will be the ones cashing in bigtime .... its all a big moneymaking scam at the expense of the average joe like u or me.

2ndly, we spend a lot less than people think in forien aid when it is compaired in terms of percentage to the GNP

Moreover, it is many times less than what we spent on this war. We are by far better off achieving good will through helping other countries develop themselves to a level of being able to farm and have clean water than we will ever be by having a war

I don't think the U.S. idealistically supports others soley in the name of Democracy. It's too simplistic. There are many other "objectives" that U.S. has when they give their supports. How long would this support last?. As long as U.S. is around with the present mindset.
